As indicated, this copy is one of the 40 (XIX) and it has been signed by Williams. Additional hand-drawn insignia below the signature. Book shows clean, white pages, no former owner marks and flawless binding. Fine condition.

Excerpt from a then-unpublished novel that was eventually published in 1999. The story centers on a gay black musician who is imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp. The story arose out of the author's visit to Dachau in the 1960s and the pictures of two Black concentration camp prisoners that he found there.
